Construction Testing Laboratory (Grade II) – AFER Authorized No. 719/2023

Geotechnical testing and fresh and hardened concrete testing, with certified results, for safer infrastructure and construction projects.

Authorized Laboratory for Construction, Material and Soil Testing

The Dromcons laboratory, AFER authorized (Grade II) No. 719/2023, is dedicated to quality testing for construction materials and the soils used in infrastructure, road and building projects.

We provide complete services for sampling, preparation, testing and result interpretation, in accordance with current standards and regulations. Our test reports are accepted by the authorities and serve as a technical basis for design, verification and work acceptance.

We work with modern equipment and standardized procedures to ensure traceability, repeatability and independent results that are useful for designers, contractors and project owners.

Types of Tests Performed in the Dromcons Laboratory

Geotechnical Tests on Soils and Granular Materials

Geotechnical testing makes it possible to characterize the soil and the materials used in infrastructure, embankments, foundations and fills. Based on these results, works can be designed correctly and compliance with project requirements can be verified.

  • Sampling and specimen preparation for testing – disturbed and undisturbed samples collected in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Particle size distribution – by sieving and sedimentation, for soil classification into granulometric classes.
  • Moisture content determination using the laboratory method, including hygroscopic water content.
  • Plasticity limits – determination of liquid and plastic limits by the thread rolling method and Casagrande method.
  • Humus content determination and other organic compounds that may influence bearing capacity.
  • Free swell testing – evaluation of soils sensitive to moisture variation.
  • Standard PROCTOR test – establishing the optimum compaction curve.
  • CBR bearing index – on soaked and unsoaked samples, for pavement structure design.
  • Dynamic penetration tests – medium or super-heavy dynamic penetrometer used to assess uniformity and in-situ compaction degree.
  • Geotechnical study with AFER verification – interpretation of results and recommendations regarding foundation solutions.

Tests on Fresh and Hardened Concrete

We verify concrete quality and compliance with the design mix, both during placement and after hardening. These tests are essential for the acceptance of structural works.

  • Sample collection – taking fresh concrete samples directly from site.
  • Preparation of cubic and prismatic specimens – specimen sets such as 150Γ—150Γ—150 mm and 150Γ—150Γ—600 mm, including casting, vibration and conditioning.
  • Specimen handling – identification, storage and transport under controlled conditions.
  • Slump test – determination of fresh concrete consistency.
  • Bulk density – for both fresh and hardened concrete, including the hydrostatic method.
  • Compaction degree of fresh concrete – verification of proper concrete compaction.
  • Compressive strength – testing of specimens at different ages such as 7 and 28 days.
  • Flexural strength and freeze-thaw resistance.
  • Processing and extraction of concrete cores – coring, preparation and calculation of the resulting properties.
  • Fresh concrete temperature measurement – monitoring of placing conditions.

How We Work for Laboratory Testing Services

  1. Quote request and technical discussion – we receive the project requirements such as work type, applicable standards, number of samples and deadlines, and propose a testing plan.
  2. Sampling schedule – together we establish the key site moments for collecting representative samples.
  3. Sampling and transport – our team or the client’s designated personnel collects the samples and transports them to the laboratory under controlled conditions.
  4. Laboratory testing – we carry out the tests according to standards and approved internal procedures, with internal quality checks.
  5. Test report – we issue clear reports including all measured values, applicable standard limits and relevant conclusions.
  6. Consultancy and interpretation – upon request, we provide additional explanations, recommendations and support for including the results in design or acceptance documentation.

Why Choose the Dromcons Laboratory for Construction Testing and Analysis

AFER Grade II Authorization

The laboratory is AFER authorized No. 719/2023, which guarantees compliance with procedures, standards and quality requirements for railway and road infrastructure works.

Traceability and Verifiable Results

Every sample is tracked through a clear identification and recording system, so the obtained values can be verified and directly correlated with the sampling point and the execution phase.

Integration with Design and Construction Services

Laboratory results are directly used by the Dromcons design, geotechnical and execution teams, ensuring fast communication and sound decisions on site.
